German GP – Good start for Johann Zarco and Jorge Martin after the first day of practice

The eighth chapter of the 2021 MotoGP season began today with the first day of free practice sessions of the German Grand Prix, scheduled for this weekend at the Sachsenring.
The riders of Team Pramac were able to make the absolute most out of the two sessions, searching for the perfect setup for Sunday’s race.
Johann Zarco came in eight at the end of FP1. He was able to improve his time by over a second in FP2 this afternoon, finishing in eighth in the combined classification with a time of 1:21.181.
Jorge Martin, the holder of the fourteenth best time today, is proceeding well with his recovery. The Spanish rider has completed a total of 40 laps and marked his best time at 1:21.398 on the last lap of FP2, regardless of sliding out of the track during FP1.

Jorge Martín

Physically I feel much better compared to how I was In Barcelona and that is a good starting point. I am not far off from the top ten and I feel satisfied with this first day even though this is my first time riding a Ducati on this track. I remain positive.

Johann Zarco

I am happy to be riding at this circuit again. My style is not ideal for this track, but I will try to adapt myself as much as possible. Together with the team, I am working a lot to find the best solution for us. I am happy with my last run where we were able to find important information.
