Austrian GP – Martin takes a spot on the podium, Zarco crashes out with ten laps to go.

It was an incredible race, which had everyone hold their breaths up until the chequered flag.
Martin and Zarco were protagonists of the race after getting off to a good start. They took part in incredible duels with the likes of Marquez, Quartararo, and Bagnaia.
With ten laps to go, at the ninth turn, a harmless slip, unfortunately, put an end to Johann’s race.
With four laps to go to the chequered flag, it began to rain, completely changing everything: Martin returned to the box to swap bikes (which turned out to be the correct strategy). Martin then crossed the finish line and earned himself an extraordinary third place.

Jorge Martín

I am in seventh heaven. After having swapped bikes, I didn’t think to be able to reach the podium, then I began making great overtakes therefore by the time I had reached the finish line, I was third. I am very proud of what we are achieving.

Johann Zarco

I am sad and slightly disappointed; I repeated the same mistake I made this morning during the warm-up session.
I tried to push myself to the limit to stay with the group and slipped. I am sorry because we had worked well all weekend.
