QATAR GP – MARTINATOR GETS THE POLE POSITION, JOHANN 13TH

The first pole position of the 2022 MotoGP World Championship has the signature of Jorge Martin.
The talented rider  had earned virtual access to Q2 after last night’s fp2,
but today he and his team took another step forward, setting the first time of 1:53.011.
Johann Zarco missed out on Q2 due to a yellow flag which cancelled the time that would have allowed him access to the top ten.
Tomorrow he will start from thirteenth on the grid with a time of 1:53.780.

Jorge Martín

Very happy, we have made a step forward since yesterday and in qualifying we were very strong.
I feel very good and I am confident for tomorrow.
Starting from pole position will be fundamental, but even more important will be to be consistent and not make mistakes.

Johann Zarco

Not the result I was hoping for, but I saw that we can do well, given the big improvement we have made since yesterday’s free practice.
The pace was very good today.
I will concentrate on the use of the tyres.
It will be very important to get a good start and be in the front group.
